Our 5 Favorite Sustainable Candle Companies | Sustainable Blog Edition #41

Sustainable Blog Edition #41.

Candles are trendier than every, now available in all shapes and sizes from giant bowls to twisty squiggles. The global candle industry is valued at $3.5 Billion in 2022 and projected to steadily grow over the next decade.

There are many environmental downsides to the cheap candle market so it is important to educate yourself on sustainable alternatives and some creative new options! Cheap candles often contain synthetic aromas, petroleum paraffin wax, and potentially lead wicks.

Lazy Hype has our own natural Uplift Candle made with 100% soy wax and essential oil fragrances. Scented with magnolia & peony, featuring notes of violet, lily, freesia, powder, and wood. Take a deep breath. The Uplift Candle is perfect for unwinding after a long day of being the boss that you are.

1. Siblings - Containerless Candles

One of our absolute favorite new candle companies is Siblings. They specialize in coconut oil candles with no wasteful containers. Instead they ship you the wax in a compostable bag which you heat and then pour into your own leftover containers at home! Best of all, they come in a variety of artisan scents and variety packs such as Coffee Beans and Candles.

2. P.F. Candle Co - Vegan Soy Candles

P.F. Candle Co is the perfect go-to vegan crafter with candles formulated from non-toxic, paraben-free, soy wax. Additionally their fragrance oils are phthalate-free and lead-free cotton core wicks. P.F. Candle Co. specializes in a range of fruity, floral, and musky scents with aesthetic amber glass jars.

3. Keap Candles - Luxurious Sustainable Candles

Designed by master purfumer Christophe Laudamiel, Keap offers a range of luxury natural candles made in New York City. Keap specializes in palm wax candles shipped in glass containers which are designed to be used as drinking glasses after use. Both the wax and wick are designed to burn entirely down to avoid any waste.

4. Hyggelight - Growing Candles

Hyggelight has a unique approach to sustainable candle making.  Not only are their candles soy wax with essential oil fragrances, they also come with a unique twist. Each candle contains a seed packet at the bottom which can be grown in the candle’s ceramic container by simply adding soil.

5. beEsom - Natural Beeswax Candles

BeEsom specializes in 100% organic beeswax candles crafted in Georgia. The candles include natural scents such as the Love Blessing candle made with basil leaves and ground cinnamon. BeEsom is a small business and all the candles are homemade which is a huge bonus!
